I was informed the position of President would take about an hour of my time each week. I believed that comment as much as I can own the Brooklyn Bridge for $10. But although it has taken a lot of time, I have enjoyed this year so far. What I have found is there are a lot more people working hard at the club keeping it active than I realized. There is the Executive, Activities, and Rally Committees plus general volunteers.
So far in 2024 we have had a successful Winter Rally, plus hosting or participating in 4 Monthly Meetings, 8 Club Rides, 2 Social Dinners and numerous events during Daytona Bike Week. We are a very active club.
Our club has over 200 active members in the club. Some only come to the Rally. Others only like to do the rides, or meet for dinners or other events. But there is also a good group that like to visit with their friends at the meetings. And all of this is GREAT!! I hope you’re taking advantage of the club as well.
May will be another full month of activities including the following;
THE ABC Challenge Continues through September 30th. Get some of your cities in before the “Real” hot summer temps arrive.
May 3rd-5th is the Georgia Mountqain Rally
May 11th we’ll have our Spring Picnic at Fleet Reserve
May 18th is a weekend ride to St. Simon’s Island. (here’s a change to join the group for all of the worker bees unable to make the weekday rides)
May 19th is the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
May 25th there is the free S.M.A.R.T training with JSO
May 30th – June 2nd is Two Wheels of Suches
